WELCOME
ABOUT US
We are committed to serving community through art and public engagement. Explore our website to learn more about what we are doing throughout California,
and now in the state of Washington.
MISSION
To promote the professional expansion of urban-influenced art careers within the community
through art education, demonstration, and creative outreach.
Why URBANISTS?
Urbanism is traditionally associated with architecture, urban planning or landscape design.
Similar to architects, Urbanists embrace the concept of redefining public space,
with the addition of art and public engagement.
WE ARE
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SPECIALISTS
Some examples of our work...
TASTE THE ARTS
We are proud co curators of Taste the Arts, an annual festival presented by the Arts Consortium— the official arts council of Tulare County. This annual event in downtown Visalia is a celebration of the rich cultural and artistic heritage of our community.
What we bring to the festival is a dynamic urban art experience as we showcase many urban art professionals from all over the country. We have grown to be known as a Central California destination point for urban art muralists.
ART BRIGADE
Art Brigade is an art based enrichment program developed by Urbanists, implemented at various school campuses, youth venues, and pop-up workshops throughout the Central Valley.
In addition to art education, lessons promote healthy decision making, higher education and social involvement.
The Art Brigade students featured in this video attended the California Student Voices campaign ceremony in San Fransisco as finalists.
COMMUNITY MURALS
Our team of artists are experienced in facilitating projects that engage young people and community.
In this video, the Hanford Community Artists youth group participate in mural projects with a message of hope, sponsored by the Tulare Kings Suicide Prevention Network.
